So much is happening in the light commercial market that the August issue of Delivery magazine is jam packed with new releases and updates to existing models.

The past year has seen lots of sneak previews of Volkswagen’s new Amarok ute but nobody had actually driven one to find out just how good it was likely to be. Well, now we have been behind the wheel and not just on the road. We’ve had our first drive both on and off road and come away thinking that here’s one ute that’s really going to shake the branches and surprise all ute owners.

If all goes according to plan the Amarok could be in Australia before Christmas and it’s such a significant step forwards that we think you’ll be very impressed.

In this issue we review our long term test Navara and slot it in with an explanation of all the different models in the Nissan ute line-up. We look at how Mercedes-Benz is training fleet operators how to drive more safely and we look at how Fiat and its Ducato fleet is going to improve Australia’s border security.

We’ve given the latest Volkswagen Transport T5 panel van a serious evaluation and we give you the rundown on what to expect in terms of a frugal Ford when the company launches the latest Econetic version of the Transit. This iconic van range this month celebrates its 45 birthday.

We look at the new light truck range from Hyundai, check out the advantages of correct wheel alignment from Pro-Axle and we drive the latest version of the Kia Grand Carnival. It’s full of surprises and, as we found, there’s nothing sluggish about this particular people mover and its versatility makes it a real winner.

In the light truck market itself we profile how Hino is making inroads into fuel efficiency with its Hybrid models. There’s a new automatic transmission unit available and that increases its appeal even further.

Thanks for all your support as we continue with our goal to make Delivery Magazine the best, most authoritative light commercial magazine in Australia.

Thanks for joining us.

Stay safe and enjoy the drive.
